Timings

Location

This is a pop-up event in the centre city from Huatoki Plaza across Puke Ariki Landing to the Wind Wand. This year it also includes the Tasman Prospect. The event is NOT in Pukekura Park.

FESTIVAL HUB

For any enquiries, information, wheelchair collection, first aid or lost children, find staff in the Festival Hub area to help you out. The Festival Hub is located on lower Brougham Street, outside Puke Ariki Library. This will be manned throughout Festival operating hours 5-10pm.

ROAD CLOSURE

Ariki Street from Egmont Street to Currie Streets from 4-11pm will be closed every night of the festival. Buses are still operating and allowed through. 

PARKING

Free parking is available in Centre City carpark from 5.30-10.30pm, via St Aubyn Street entry only. See our parking map for alternative options. 

TOILETS

Toilets are available at the James Lane toilets within the Huatoki Plaza, and also next to the Wind Wand carpark.

SMOKEFREE

Smokefree and vape-free policy in public areas. If you need to smoke or vape, please move away from other visitors to do so.

CANCELLATIONS

If events are cancelled due to poor weather, the NPDC Civic Centre front desk & call centre will be notified by 2pm that day. If an event is cancelled, announcements will be posted on our website and on our Facebook page.

FOOD AND DRINK

There will be a number of food trucks each night, in and around the Festival Hub on Ariki and Brougham Streets, and in the Wind Wand carpark. 

Food trucks on site: Vibe Coffee, Lighthaus Coffee, The Silo, The Hot Waffle, Island Style Kitchen, Patea Hangi Shop, Super Donut Hero, Sumela Kebab, Mr Whippy, Hungry Bread, Cocozo.

WHEELCHAIRS

A limited number of wheelchairs are available to use, free of charge. BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL. Please contact New Plymouth District Council on 06 759 6060, or email tsbfol@npdc.govt.nz to book. The Winter Pop-Up light installations are all intended to be accessible to those in wheelchairs or with limited mobility. The festival map on the website identifies the event spaces and paths to take. 

NO MOBILITY SCOOTERS

Please note that due to congestion, and for the safety of our attendees, mobility scooters will not be available for public use.

LOST AND FOUND (PROPERTY)

Any lost property items to be taken to the Festival Hub/team member outside the Puke Ariki Museum. Lost property Items of value will be delivered to the New Plymouth Police Station within 24 hours.
